Your Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner is designed for suitable hard floors, including tiles, sealed wood, laminate and linoleum.
Before use, check that your flooring permits wet cleaning and that your chosen cleaning solution is compatible with its finish.
Applies to: MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner, model 740002. Check the rating label on your appliance to confirm the model.
Which hard floor types are listed as suitable?
The MRX Complete Pro product guidance lists:
- Tiles.
- Sealed wood floors.
- Laminate.
- Linoleum.
- Rubber floor mats.
- Pressed wood floors.
Suitability depends on the condition, finish and care requirements of your particular floor. A material appearing in this list does not override the flooring manufacturer’s cleaning restrictions.
Check that the floor is suitable for both wet cleaning and the selected detergent before starting.
Can I use it on wooden floors?
Use only on sealed wood flooring that is suitable for wet cleaning.
Do not use on unsealed wood or where the protective finish is worn, damaged or missing. Avoid wet cleaning where gaps or damaged areas could allow water to penetrate.
If you are unsure whether the floor is sealed or suitable, check with its manufacturer or installer before use.
Can I use it on laminate or pressed wood flooring?
Only use the cleaner if your flooring manufacturer permits wet cleaning.
Check for lifting edges, open joints, swelling or damaged surfaces. Do not wet-clean areas where moisture could enter the flooring or where the care instructions prohibit it.
Use controlled passes and collect excess water promptly. Avoid repeatedly soaking the same area.
Can I use it on tiles?
Tiles are listed as a suitable surface, but check the cleaning requirements for both the tile finish and grout.
Natural stone, porous tiles and specialist finishes may require particular cleaning methods or detergents. Do not assume every tiled floor has the same care requirements.
If the surface requires sealing, confirm that its protective finish is intact and that wet cleaning is permitted.
Can I use it on linoleum or rubber floor mats?
Linoleum and rubber floor mats are included in the product guidance.
Check the manufacturer’s care instructions and detergent compatibility first. Do not use on damaged surfaces or loose mats that move, bunch up or cannot remain stable during cleaning.
Rubber floor mats should not be confused with fabric rugs or carpeted mats.
What about vinyl or other hard floors?
Vinyl and other surfaces not specifically named in the list should be checked before use.
Ask your flooring manufacturer or installer whether the surface and its finish are suitable for wet cleaning with a powered roller cleaner before use.
“Hard flooring” alone does not confirm compatibility. The finish, joints, condition and cleaning restrictions also matter.
Can I use it on carpets, rugs or upholstery?
No. The MRX Complete Pro 740002 is a hard floor cleaner, not a carpet or upholstery washer.
Do not use it to wash:
- Carpets or fabric rugs.
- Carpeted mats.
- Mattresses.
- Upholstered furniture.
The manual’s reference to carpet-cleaning solution describes the detergent type permitted in the tank. It does not make the appliance suitable for washing carpets.
Does the cleaning solution need to suit the floor?
Yes. A suitable floor can still be affected by an incompatible detergent.
Before adding cleaning solution:
- Check that the solution is suitable for use in the appliance.
- Check that it is compatible with your flooring and its finish.
- Follow the detergent manufacturer’s dilution and dosing instructions.
For further guidance, select “Which cleaning solution can I use?” from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
Should I test a small area first?
Yes. After confirming that wet cleaning is permitted:
- Choose a small, inconspicuous area.
- Use the correct cleaning solution and dose, if adding detergent.
- Make steady forward and backward passes.
- Select Rapid Suction on the backward pass to help collect water.
- Allow the area to dry and check the finish before continuing.
Stop if you notice discolouration, lifting, swelling, scratching or other changes.
A successful small-area test does not override restrictions in your flooring manufacturer’s instructions.
How can I protect the floor during cleaning?
- Keep the cleaner moving; do not leave the roller running while stationary.
- Pull backwards along the same strip you have just washed.
- Use Rapid Suction on the return pass to help collect water.
- Avoid leaving puddles or repeatedly wetting one area.
- Switch off and place the cleaner upright on its storage base when taking a break.
- Allow the floor to dry before walking over it.

Unsure whether your flooring is suitable?
Contact your flooring manufacturer or installer before using the cleaner. They can confirm whether your floor, protective finish and any treatments are suitable for wet cleaning with a powered roller cleaner.
Morphy Richards can advise on operating the MRX Complete Pro, but we cannot assess your flooring’s condition, identify its finish or confirm compatibility with a particular floor.
If suitability cannot be confirmed, do not use the cleaner on that surface.
