If your Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner isn’t releasing water or the roller stays dry during cleaning, follow the checks below.
An empty or incorrectly fitted clean water tank, debris around the tank outlet or an incorrectly fitted roller may affect water delivery and cleaning performance.
Applies to: MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner, model 740002. Check the rating label on your appliance to confirm the model.
Before you start
Switch the cleaner off and disconnect it from the charger before removing the tanks, roller or cover, or inspecting the cleaning head.
Keep fingers, hair, loose clothing and tools away from moving parts. Do not operate the cleaner without its filters installed.
If you believe the cleaner may be unsafe, stop using it and contact Customer Support rather than carrying out these checks.
1. Select a normal washing mode
Test water release using Low or High mode, rather than Rapid Suction mode.
- Disconnect the cleaner from its charger.
- Tilt the handle backwards into the working position.
- Switch the cleaner on.
- Use the Mode button to select Low or High.
- Move the cleaner steadily forwards and backwards over a small area.
The modes cycle through Low, High and Rapid Suction. Check the selected mode when testing.
The cleaner cannot be switched on in its upright position and does not operate while charging.
2. Fill and refit the clean water tank
- Switch the cleaner off and disconnect it from the charger.
- Press the clean water tank release button and remove the tank.
- Open the cap and check that the tank contains water.
- Fill as directed in the manual, which specifies approximately 600ml. Do not use hot water or overfill.
- Close the cap securely.
- Refit the tank until it clicks into place.
An incorrectly seated tank may prevent water from reaching the cleaning head.
If you add cleaning solution, follow the manual’s guidance and the detergent manufacturer’s dosing instructions. Do not use a cleaning agent that produces excessive foam.
3. Inspect the clean water tank outlet
With the cleaner switched off and disconnected from the charger:
- Remove the clean water tank.
- Inspect the small outlet valve for visible debris or damage.
- Gently clean away any accessible debris around the outside of the outlet.
- Refit the tank securely.
The arrow identifies the clean water tank outlet valve to inspect for visible debris or damage.
Do not insert a screwdriver or other tool into the valve, force the mechanism or dismantle the tank outlet.
If the valve appears damaged, remains obstructed or you are unsure how to clean it safely, stop and contact Customer Support.
4. Clean and refit the roller and cover
- With the cleaner switched off, disconnected from the charger and upright, remove the roller cover using its release lever.
- Lift the lever at the left-hand end of the roller and remove the roller.
- Remove hair, threads and visible debris.
- Inspect the accessible roller compartment for build-up.
- Clean the roller and cover under running water.
- Refit the roller by inserting the end without the lever first, then pressing the lever end into position.
- Align the cover with its slots and press it into place until it clicks.
Do not immerse the cleaning head or electrical parts in water. Do not insert tools into water outlets or dismantle the cleaning head.
If you will not use the cleaner immediately after cleaning, allow the roller to dry before refitting.
5. Test water release again
Check that the tanks, filters, roller and cover are correctly fitted.
- Disconnect the cleaner from its charger.
- Tilt the handle into the working position and switch the cleaner on.
- Select Low or High mode.
- Make steady forward and backward passes over a small area.
- Switch the cleaner off before inspecting the roller.
Check whether the roller is becoming wet and the floor is being washed.
If the roller becomes wet but excess water remains on the floor, use the water pick-up guide available through our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
