Your Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner has three operating modes: Low, High and Rapid Suction.
Use Low for routine washing, High for stubborn dirt and Rapid Suction to help collect water on the backward pass.
Applies to: MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner, model 740002. Check the rating label on your appliance to confirm the model.
How do I change the cleaning mode?
- Disconnect the charger from the cleaner.
- Gently tilt the handle backwards into the working position.
- Press the On/Off button. The cleaner starts in Low mode.
- Press the Mode button to select High.
- Press Mode again to select Rapid Suction.
- Press Mode again to return to Low.
Each press cycles through the settings in this order:
Low → High → Rapid Suction → Low
Check the current setting before changing modes. One press selects the next mode, rather than always selecting the same setting.
The cleaner does not operate while charging and will not start normal floor cleaning in the upright park position.
When should I use Low mode?
Low is the default setting when you switch the cleaner on. Use it as your starting setting for routine floor washing.
Push the cleaner forwards steadily, then pull it backwards along the same strip before moving to the next area.
Only clean flooring suitable for wet cleaning, following your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions.
When should I use High mode?
Use High mode for stubborn dirt or stains.
From Low, press the Mode button once to select High. Make additional controlled passes over the affected area if needed.
Keep the cleaner moving. Do not leave the roller running while stationary, as this could damage the floor.
Do not add extra detergent to tackle stubborn marks. Follow the manual’s cleaning-solution guidance and the detergent manufacturer’s dosing instructions.
When should I use Rapid Suction mode?
Use Rapid Suction to help collect water from the floor, particularly on the backward pass over a strip you have just washed.
From High, press the Mode button once to select Rapid Suction.
- Pull the cleaner backwards steadily along the same strip.
- Check whether excess water remains.
- If needed, make another controlled pass using Rapid Suction before moving on.
Avoid moving straight to a new section after washing forwards. Returning over the same strip helps collect the dirty water.
Which mode should I use?
| Cleaning task | Suggested mode |
|---|---|
| Routine floor washing | Low |
| Stubborn dirt or stains | High |
| Collecting water on the backward pass | Rapid Suction |
| An additional pass over excess water | Rapid Suction |
Does High mode replace the backward pass?
No. High mode helps tackle stubborn dirt, but cleaning technique still matters.
For an even finish:
- Push forwards over a strip of floor using Low or High as appropriate.
- Select Rapid Suction for the backward pass.
- Pull backwards along the same strip.
- Slightly overlap the next strip and repeat.
Walk to the side of the cleaner and avoid stepping on the wet floor.
For further guidance, select “Cleaning technique and tips” from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
What if Rapid Suction leaves excess water behind?
Switch the cleaner off and disconnect it from the charger before inspecting or removing components.
Check that:
- The dirty water tank is empty and securely fitted.
- The float moves freely.
- The mesh and sponge filters are clean and correctly assembled.
- The sponge filter is fully dry before refitting after washing.
- The roller and cover are securely fitted.
- The accessible suction inlet and elbow connection are clear of debris.
Do not operate the cleaner without its filters installed or force tools into openings.
For the complete checks, select “Not picking up water or leaving floors too wet” from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
Is self-cleaning another cleaning mode?
Self-cleaning is a separate after-use function, rather than a mode for washing the floor.
With the cleaner switched off, disconnected from the charger and upright on its storage base, hold the Mode button for approximately three seconds. The cycle takes approximately one minute.
Keep the roller, cover, tanks and filters fitted. Stay with the cleaner and keep hands, hair, clothing and tools away from moving parts.
For preparation and after-care instructions, select “How to use the self-clean function” from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
