Get the best results from your Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner with steady cleaning passes, the appropriate mode and regular after-use care.
The backward pass matters: return along the same strip you have just washed to help collect dirty water before moving to the next area.
Applies to: MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner, model 740002. Check the rating label on your appliance to confirm the model.
1. Prepare the floor and cleaner
Before starting:
- Check that your flooring is suitable for wet cleaning and follow its manufacturer’s care instructions.
- Remove cables, loose objects and large debris from the area.
- Check that the roller, cover, tanks and filters are clean and correctly fitted. The sponge filter must be fully dry before fitting.
- Fill the clean water tank as directed in the user manual. Do not use hot water.
- If adding cleaning solution, follow the manual’s guidance and the detergent manufacturer’s dosing instructions. Avoid products that create excessive foam.
- Check the battery charge and disconnect the charger.
Plan your route so you can finish near the exit without walking over freshly cleaned flooring.
2. Start the cleaner in the working position
- Place the cleaner on the floor.
- Rest one foot on the floor-cleaning head to hold it steady.
- Gently tilt the handle backwards.
- Press the On/Off button.
The cleaner starts in Low mode.
Normal floor cleaning will not start while the handle is locked upright, and the cleaner does not operate while charging.
3. Use steady forward and backward passes
Use even movements so the cleaner has time to wash the floor and collect dirty water.
- Push the cleaner forwards over a strip of floor.
- Pull it backwards along the same strip.
- Start the next strip with a slight overlap.
- Repeat across the room.
Avoid fast, short vacuuming strokes or moving straight to a new area after the forward pass. Keep the cleaning head in contact with the floor and guide it smoothly.
4. Choose the appropriate cleaning mode
Press the Mode button to cycle through:
- Low: the default setting for routine cleaning.
- High: for stubborn dirt or stains.
- Rapid Suction: to help collect water from the floor.
For stubborn dirt, select High on the forward pass and make additional controlled passes if needed.
Select Rapid Suction on the backward pass to help collect remaining water. Check the selected mode rather than assuming one button press will always select Rapid Suction.
Do not add extra detergent to tackle stubborn marks.
5. Work in overlapping strips
Slightly overlap each new strip to reduce missed areas and produce a more even finish.
Work methodically across the room. Walk to the side of the cleaner and avoid stepping onto wet sections.
Allow the floor to dry before walking over it.
If streaks remain after drying, select the “Leaving streaks or marks” guide from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
6. Empty the dirty water tank when needed
Check the dirty water level during cleaning. Empty the tank immediately when it reaches the MAX mark.
- Switch the cleaner off.
- Return the handle upright and place the cleaner on its storage base.
- Empty and rinse the dirty water tank.
- Refit the tank securely before continuing.
Always switch the cleaner off before removing either water tank. Disconnect the charger before carrying out cleaning or maintenance.
If water pick-up becomes poor, stop and check the dirty water tank, filters and accessible inlet. Use the “Not picking up water or leaving floors too wet” guide in our support hub.
7. Switch off when taking a break
- Press the On/Off button to switch the cleaner off.
- Move the handle into the upright park position.
- Place the cleaner on its storage base.
Do not leave the roller running while the cleaner is stationary, as this could damage the floor. Never leave the appliance running unattended.
Keep the cleaner upright when parked to prevent water spilling from the tanks.
8. Clean the appliance after use
After each cleaning session:
- Use the self-clean function as directed.
- Switch the cleaner off and disconnect it from the charger before removing components.
- Empty and rinse the dirty water tank.
- Remove remaining hair, threads and debris from the roller and cover.
- Check and clean the filters.
- Allow the sponge filter to dry fully before refitting.
- Empty leftover water or cleaning solution before storage.
- Allow the roller to dry before refitting if the cleaner will not be used immediately.
Self-cleaning helps with routine care but does not replace cleaning and drying the removable parts.
For full instructions, select “How to use the self-clean function” or “How to clean the roller, tanks and filters” from our MRX Complete Pro 740002 support hub.
Quick tips for a more even finish
- Move steadily: rushing can leave excess water or missed patches.
- Return along the same strip: complete both the forward and backward pass.
- Overlap slightly: avoid gaps between cleaning strips.
- Measure detergent carefully: too much can leave residue and create foam.
- Keep the roller clean: trapped dirt can affect the finish.
- Collect remaining water: select Rapid Suction for the return pass.
- Avoid wet footprints: plan your route and stay off freshly cleaned areas.
If you notice scratching, persistent discolouration or possible floor damage, stop cleaning the affected area and seek advice before continuing.
