Get your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle connected and ready to use with the Amazon Alexa app.
You can connect your kettle using the QR code on the product or, if you're unable to scan the code, complete the setup manually through the Alexa app.
Follow the steps below to get started.
Before you start
Before setting up your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle, make sure you have:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- A smartphone or tablet with the Amazon Alexa app installed
- A compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection
- Your Wi-Fi password
- Your kettle connected to the mains supply
If you want to control your kettle using Alexa voice commands, you'll also need a compatible Alexa-enabled device.
Permissions during setup
During setup, the Alexa app may ask for permission to access features on your smartphone or tablet.
If you're setting up your kettle using the QR code, you'll need to allow the Alexa app access to your camera so it can scan the code.
Follow any other permission requests shown in the Alexa app during setup.
Step 1 – Connect your kettle to the power
Connect the power plug to the mains supply and place the kettle securely onto its cordless power base.
When the kettle is connected to the mains, it will beep and the Power symbol will illuminate, showing that the kettle is in standby mode.
Step 2 – Put your kettle into pairing mode
Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the kettle's full control panel.
Then:
Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds.
The kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will start to flash.
The flashing Wi-Fi symbol means your kettle is ready to pair with the Alexa app.
Step 3 – Open the Amazon Alexa app
Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet.
Select:
Devices → + → Add Device
From the list of available device types, select:
Kettle → Morphy Richards
Follow the instructions shown in the Alexa app.
Step 4 – Choose how you want to set up your kettle
You can set up your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle by scanning its QR code or by using the manual setup option.
Setting up using the QR code
Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle has a QR code on the product.
When the Alexa app asks you to scan the code:
- Select the option to scan the barcode/QR code.
- Allow the Alexa app to access your camera if prompted.
- Position the QR code within the scanning area shown in the Alexa app.
- Keep your phone or tablet steady until the code is recognised.
Important: Scan the QR code through the Alexa app
Scan the QR code from within the Alexa app when prompted during setup, rather than using your phone's normal camera app.
This allows Alexa to use the code as part of the kettle setup process.
If you're unable to scan the QR code, select:
Don't have a barcode?
You can then continue with the manual setup process.

Step 6 – Connect your kettle to Wi-Fi
Once Alexa has found your kettle, you'll be asked to select your Wi-Fi network.
Select your network and enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Check your Wi-Fi connection
Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle requires a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection for setup.
Make sure you've entered your Wi-Fi password correctly.
The user manual also recommends avoiding unusual characters or symbols in your Wi-Fi network name or password, as these may cause connection issues.
