Having trouble connecting your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle to your Wi-Fi network? If your kettle won't connect during setup, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- A smartphone or tablet with the Amazon Alexa app installed
- An Amazon account
- Your Wi-Fi network and password
- Your kettle connected to the power supply
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to use with your kettle before you begin.
How to troubleshoot your Alexa Kettle Wi-Fi connection
1. Check your Wi-Fi network
Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
Check that your router has a 2.4 GHz network available before trying to connect your kettle.
The user manual also recommends avoiding unusual characters or symbols in your Wi-Fi network name or password, as these can prevent the kettle from connecting successfully.
2. Check your Wi-Fi password
Make sure you've entered your Wi-Fi password correctly in the Alexa app.
Check carefully for:
- Capital letters
- Numbers
- Special characters
- Spaces
If you've recently changed your Wi-Fi password, make sure you're using the new password.
3. Put your kettle into pairing mode
Your kettle needs to be in pairing mode before it can connect to your Wi-Fi network.
To put your kettle into pairing mode:
- Make sure the kettle is connected to the mains supply.
- Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the full control panel.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds.
- The kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will start to flash.
The flashing Wi-Fi symbol indicates that your kettle is ready to pair.
4. Check the Wi-Fi symbol is flashing
If the Wi-Fi symbol isn't flashing, the kettle isn't in pairing mode.
Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds again until the kettle beeps and the Wi-Fi symbol starts flashing.
Once the Wi-Fi symbol is flashing, return to the Alexa app and continue the setup.
5. Check your kettle is connected to the power supply
Make sure your kettle is correctly connected to the mains supply.
The kettle needs to be powered on while you're completing the Wi-Fi setup.
Check that:
- The power plug is connected correctly.
- The power supply is switched on.
- The kettle is correctly positioned on its power base.
6. Give the Alexa app time to connect
Once you've selected your Wi-Fi network and entered your password, allow the Alexa app time to complete the connection.
Don't close the app or interrupt the setup while the connection is being established.
If Alexa is searching for your kettle, the search can take around 45 seconds.
7. Try connecting again
If your kettle still won't connect to Wi-Fi, close and reopen the Alexa app and start the setup process again.
Go to:
Devices → + → Add Device → Kettle → Morphy Richards
Follow the instructions in the Alexa app and make sure the kettle is in pairing mode before continuing.
