Having trouble because Alexa can't discover your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle? If your kettle isn't appearing when you try to set it up, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- A smartphone or tablet with the Amazon Alexa app installed
- An Amazon account
- Your kettle connected to the power supply
- Your Wi-Fi network and password
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to Wi-Fi before you begin.
How to troubleshoot Alexa not finding your kettle
1. Check your kettle is in pairing mode
Alexa needs to be able to detect your kettle before it can complete the setup.
To put your kettle into pairing mode:
- Make sure the kettle is connected to the mains supply.
- Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the full control panel.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds.
- The kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will start to flash.
The flashing Wi-Fi symbol shows that your kettle is ready to pair with Alexa.
2. Check you're adding the correct device
Open the Amazon Alexa app and select:
Devices → + → Add Device
Scroll through the device types and select:
Kettle
Then select:
Morphy Richards
Follow the instructions shown in the Alexa app to continue the setup.
3. Check the QR code or choose manual setup
When Alexa asks you to scan the QR code, scan the code provided with your kettle.
If you're unable to scan the code, select:
Don't have a barcode?
You can then continue with the manual setup process.

4. Wait for Alexa to search
Once you've started the setup, Alexa will search for your kettle.
The search can take around 45 seconds, so allow the app time to complete the search before trying again.
Keep your kettle connected to the mains supply while Alexa is searching.
5. Check the Wi-Fi symbol
If Alexa can't find your kettle, check the kettle's control panel.
The Wi-Fi symbol should be flashing when the kettle is in pairing mode.
If it isn't flashing, press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds again until the kettle beeps and the Wi-Fi symbol starts flashing.
6. Check your Wi-Fi network
Your kettle requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
The user manual also recommends avoiding unusual characters or symbols in your Wi-Fi network name or password, as these can prevent the kettle from connecting successfully.
Make sure you have selected the correct Wi-Fi network and entered the password correctly.
7. Try the setup again
If Alexa still can't discover your kettle, close and reopen the Alexa app and start the setup process again.
Go to:
Devices → + → Add Device → Kettle → Morphy Richards
Put the kettle back into pairing mode and allow Alexa to search again.
