Has your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle stopped responding to Alexa after previously working correctly? If your kettle has become disconnected from the Alexa app, follow the steps below to reconnect it.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- A smartphone or tablet with the Amazon Alexa app installed
- An Amazon account
- Your kettle connected to the power supply
- Your Wi-Fi network and password
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to Wi-Fi before you begin.
How to reconnect your Alexa Kettle
1. Check your kettle has power
Make sure your kettle is connected to the mains supply and correctly positioned on its power base.
Check that:
- The power plug is connected correctly.
- The power supply is switched on.
- The kettle is correctly positioned on the power base.
If your kettle has no power, Alexa won't be able to communicate with it.
2. Check your Wi-Fi connection
Your kettle needs to be connected to Wi-Fi for Alexa to communicate with it.
Make sure your home Wi-Fi is working normally and that your smartphone or tablet can connect to the internet.
The Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
If you've recently changed your router, Wi-Fi network name or Wi-Fi password, your kettle may need to be connected to the new network.
For help with Wi-Fi connection problems, see:
My Alexa Kettle Won't Connect to Wi-Fi
3. Check the Alexa app
Open the Amazon Alexa app and select:
Devices
Find your Morphy Richards Kettle and check its status.
If your kettle is showing as offline or unavailable, it may need to be reconnected.
4. Put your kettle into pairing mode
If your kettle has become disconnected, you can start the pairing process again.
To put your kettle into pairing mode:
- Make sure the kettle is connected to the mains supply.
- Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the full control panel.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds.
- The kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will start to flash.
The flashing Wi-Fi symbol indicates that your kettle is ready to pair.
5. Add your kettle to Alexa again
Open the Amazon Alexa app and select:
Devices → + → Add Device
Select:
Kettle → Morphy Richards
Follow the instructions in the Alexa app to reconnect your kettle.
If you're asked to scan the QR code and can't scan it, select:
Don't have a barcode?
You can then continue with the manual setup process.

6. Allow Alexa time to find your kettle
Once you've started the pairing process, Alexa will search for your kettle.
The search can take around 45 seconds, so allow the app time to complete the search before trying again.
Keep your kettle connected to the mains supply while Alexa is searching.
7. Check your Wi-Fi details
When prompted, select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
The user manual recommends using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection and avoiding unusual characters or symbols in your Wi-Fi network name or password.
Make sure your password is entered correctly before continuing.
My Alexa Kettle still won't reconnect
If your kettle was previously connected but Alexa still can't find it, try the following.
Restart the Alexa app
Close the Amazon Alexa app completely and reopen it.
Then go back to:
Devices → + → Add Device → Kettle → Morphy Richards
Start the pairing process again.
Check the Wi-Fi symbol
Make sure the Wi-Fi symbol is flashing on the kettle.
If it isn't, press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds until the kettle beeps and the Wi-Fi symbol starts flashing.
Check your Wi-Fi network
Make sure your Wi-Fi is working and that you're using a compatible 2.4 GHz connection.
If you've changed your Wi-Fi details since first setting up the kettle, you'll need to reconnect it using your new network details.
