Want to use your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle without Alexa? You can control the kettle directly using the buttons and controls on the kettle.
Follow the steps below to learn how to boil water, select a temperature and use the Keep Warm function.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- The kettle connected to its power base
- A suitable amount of water in the kettle
Make sure the kettle is placed securely on the power base before using the controls.
How to use your Alexa Kettle manually
1. Fill the kettle with water
Remove the kettle from its power base and fill it with the required amount of water.
Do not fill the kettle above the MAX level marked on the kettle.
Once filled, place the kettle securely back onto its power base.
2. Switch on the kettle
Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the kettle's control panel.
The control panel will illuminate and the kettle is ready to use.
3. Select your temperature
Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle allows you to select different water temperatures.
The available temperature settings are:
- 40°C
- 60°C
- 80°C
- 85°C
- 90°C
- 100°C
Select the temperature you require using the controls on the kettle.
The selected temperature will be shown on the kettle's display.
4. Start heating
Once you've selected your required temperature, press the appropriate control to start heating the water.
The kettle will begin heating and the display will show the current temperature.
When the selected temperature is reached, the kettle will stop heating.
5. Boil the water to 100°C
If you want to bring the water to boiling point, select:
100°C
The kettle will heat the water until it reaches the selected temperature.
6. Use the Keep Warm function
Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle also has a Keep Warm function.
The Keep Warm function can maintain your selected temperature for up to 2 hours.
Select the Keep Warm function using the controls on the kettle after choosing your required temperature.
The Keep Warm function can be useful if you want to keep the water at your chosen temperature rather than allowing it to cool immediately after heating.
Understanding the kettle controls
Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle has several controls that allow you to operate it directly from the kettle.
These include:
- Power – activates the kettle's control panel.
- Temperature controls – allow you to select your required water temperature.
- Keep Warm – maintains the selected temperature for up to 2 hours.
- SET – used for setting up the kettle's Wi-Fi connection and pairing it with Alexa.

If your kettle isn't working as expected when using the controls, try the following.
Check the kettle has power
Make sure the kettle is correctly positioned on its power base and that the power supply is switched on.
Check the kettle has enough water
Make sure there is enough water in the kettle before starting a heating cycle.
Do not exceed the MAX fill level.
Check the selected temperature
Make sure you've selected the temperature you want before starting the heating cycle.
Your kettle has temperature settings from 40°C to 100°C, depending on the temperature you require.
Check the control panel
Press the illuminated Power symbol to activate the control panel before selecting your temperature or other functions.
