Having trouble connecting your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle to the Amazon Alexa app? If Alexa can't find your kettle or the connection isn't completing, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle
- A smartphone or tablet with the Amazon Alexa app installed
- An Amazon account
- An Alexa device
- A Wi-Fi connection
- Your kettle connected to the power supply
Make sure your smartphone or tablet has the Alexa app installed and that your kettle is connected to the mains supply before you begin.
How to troubleshoot your Alexa Kettle connection
1. Check your kettle is in pairing mode
Your kettle needs to be in pairing mode before the Alexa app can find it.
To put your kettle into pairing mode:
- Connect the kettle to the mains supply.
- Activate the full control panel by pressing the illuminated Power symbol.
- Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds.
- The kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will start to flash.
The flashing Wi-Fi symbol indicates that your kettle is ready to pair with the Alexa app.
2. Check you're adding the correct device
Open the Amazon Alexa app and select:
Devices → + → Add Device
Scroll through the device types and select:
Kettle
Then select:
Morphy Richards
These are the steps provided in the user manual for adding your kettle to Alexa.
3. Choose your setup method
When Alexa asks you to scan the QR code, you can either scan the QR code found on your product or choose:
Don't have a barcode?
if you want to continue without scanning the QR code.
For more help, see:

or

4. Wait for Alexa to find your kettle
Once you've started the setup process, the Alexa app will search for your kettle.
This can take around 45 seconds, so allow the app time to complete the search before trying again.
Keep your kettle connected to the mains supply while Alexa is searching.
5. Check your Wi-Fi network
Once Alexa has connected to your kettle, you'll be asked to select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
The user manual states that your Wi-Fi should be 2.4 GHz.
It also recommends that there shouldn't be any unusual characters or symbols in your Wi-Fi network name or password, as these can cause connection issues.
Check that you've entered your Wi-Fi password correctly before continuing.
6. Make sure the Wi-Fi symbol is flashing
If Alexa can't find your kettle, check the kettle's control panel.
The Wi-Fi symbol should be flashing, which indicates that the kettle is in pairing mode.
If the Wi-Fi symbol isn't flashing, put the kettle back into pairing mode by pressing and holding the SET button for 3 seconds.
7. Try the setup again
If Alexa still can't find your kettle, close and reopen the Alexa app and start the setup process again.
Go to:
Devices → + → Add Device → Kettle → Morphy Richards
Then follow the on-screen instructions.
Alexa still can't find my kettle
If you've followed the steps above and Alexa still can't connect to your Morphy Richards Kettle, check the following:
Check your kettle is connected to the mains
Make sure the power plug is connected to the mains supply and that the kettle is receiving power.
Check pairing mode

Check your Wi-Fi
Make sure you're using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.

Allow enough time for Alexa to search
The Alexa app can take around 45 seconds to search for the kettle.
