Your Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle will naturally make some noise while heating and boiling water. It also uses audible beeps to let you know when certain functions have been activated or completed.
If your kettle sounds different or noisier than expected, follow the checks below.
What noises are normal?
Beeping when you switch the kettle on
When the kettle is connected to the mains supply, it will beep and the Power symbol will illuminate to show that it's in standby mode.
Two beeps when heating has finished
When the water has boiled to 100°C, the kettle will beep twice and switch off automatically.
The kettle will also beep twice when it reaches one of the selected lower temperature settings.
Beeping when entering pairing mode
When you press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode, the kettle will beep and the Wi-Fi symbol will begin flashing.
These sounds are part of the kettle's normal operation.
What to check if your kettle is noisier than expected
1. Check for limescale
If your kettle has become noticeably noisier while heating or boiling, check inside for signs of limescale.
Regular descaling is important for maintaining the efficiency of your kettle, particularly if you live in a hard-water area.
For more information, see:
How to Descale Your Morphy Richards Alexa Kettle
2. Check the water level
Make sure the water isn't below the minimum fill line or above the MAX line.
Only boil as much water as you need while remaining within the minimum and maximum fill levels.
3. Check the kettle is positioned correctly
Make sure the kettle is sitting securely and evenly on its cordless power base.
4. Descale the kettle if needed
If there's visible scale inside the kettle, use a proprietary descaling product suitable for stainless steel, glass or plastic, following the product's instructions carefully.
