If your Power 2400W SteamElite Plus Steam Generator is heating but not producing steam, this is usually related to heat-up time, water flow, or internal limescale build-up.
Most steam issues can be resolved quickly at home by following the steps below.
🔎 1. Allow Full Heat-Up Time
After switching the appliance on, the internal boiler needs time to heat the water fully.
Allow up to 4–5 minutes for the boiler to reach steam temperature.
Wait until the steam indicator lights stop flashing.
Only press the steam trigger once the unit shows it is ready.
Steam will not be produced until the water inside the boiler has fully heated.
💧 2. Check the Water Tank
Ensure:
The tank contains enough water.
The low water level indicator is not illuminated.
The tank is seated correctly in position.
When the low water light first appears, steam may continue briefly but will reduce quickly as the boiler cannot refill.
If needed, refill using the recommended water mix (see section below).
♻️ 3. Limescale Build-Up Can Restrict Steam
One of the most common causes of a steam generator producing no steam is internal limescale build-up.
Limescale forms naturally when water is heated, particularly in hard water areas or when the correct water mix is not used. Over time, this can:
Restrict water flow to the boiler
Reduce or completely block steam output
Cause intermittent or weak steam
Trigger descale alerts
Even if the appliance heats normally, internal scale can prevent steam from reaching the soleplate.
🔄 4. Run an Auto Clean / Descale Cycle
To restore steam performance, we recommend running a full cleaning cycle.

How to Descale the SteamElite Plus Steam Generator
After completing the cycle:
Empty the dirty water chamber
Refill using 50% tap water + 50% demineralised/distilled water
Allow full heat-up time again
Test steam output
Regular descaling (approximately every 5 litres of water used) helps maintain consistent steam performance.
💨 5. Tips for Optimal Steam
Use short bursts of steam with the trigger rather than holding it continuously.
Keep the base unit stable during use — sudden movements may cause water to drip instead of steam.
Minor pumping noises are normal and do not indicate a fault.
⚠️ Still Not Producing Steam?
If the above steps do not restore steam:
Take clear photos of the iron, soleplate, and full unit.
Gather your proof of purchase, model number, and serial number.
Submit your information via our Warranty Claim Form for assistance.

✅ Key Takeaways
Most steam issues are caused by low water, auto shut-off, or heating delays, not a product defect.
Follow the correct water mix and Auto Clean instructions to maintain performance.
Minor droplets or pumping sounds during heating are normal.
