Your Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner (model 740002) is designed for suitable hard floors.
Before cleaning, check that your flooring is suitable for wet cleaning and that any cleaning solution you use is compatible with its finish.
Suitable hard floor types
The MRX Complete Pro product guidance lists:
- Tiles.
- Sealed wood floors.
- Laminate.
- Linoleum.
- Rubber floor mats.
- Pressed wood floors.
Suitability depends on the condition, finish and care requirements of your particular floor. Follow your flooring manufacturer’s instructions, even if its material appears in this list.
Can I use it on wooden floors?
Use only on sealed wood flooring that is suitable for wet cleaning.
Do not use on unsealed wood or where the protective finish is worn, damaged or missing. Avoid wet cleaning if there are gaps or damaged areas where water could penetrate.
If you are unsure whether your floor is sealed, check with the flooring manufacturer or installer before use.
Can I use it on laminate or pressed wood flooring?
Only if your flooring manufacturer permits wet cleaning.
Check for lifting edges, open joints or damaged surfaces before starting. Do not use where moisture could enter the flooring or where its care instructions prohibit wet cleaning.
Use controlled passes and collect excess water promptly rather than repeatedly soaking one area.
Can I use it on tiles?
Tiles are listed as a suitable surface, but check the care requirements for the tile finish and grout.
Specialist, porous or natural-stone surfaces may require particular cleaning methods or solutions. Do not assume all tiled floors have the same requirements.
What about vinyl or other hard floors?
If your flooring is not listed above, check with its manufacturer and our Customer Support team before using the cleaner.
A surface being described as “hard flooring” does not automatically confirm that it is suitable for this appliance or wet cleaning.
Can I use it on carpets, rugs or upholstery?
The MRX Complete Pro is a hard floor cleaner, not a carpet or upholstery washer.
Do not use it to wash carpets, fabric rugs, mattresses or upholstered furniture.
Although the user manual permits a suitable carpet-cleaning solution in the tank, this describes the detergent type—it does not make the appliance suitable for cleaning carpets.
Check your cleaning solution too
A suitable floor type can still be affected by an unsuitable detergent.
Before adding a solution:
- Check that it is suitable for the appliance.
- Check that it is compatible with your flooring and its finish.
- Follow the recommended dilution and dosing instructions.
See our guide: Which cleaning solution can I use?
Test a small area first
When cleaning a floor for the first time:
- Check the flooring manufacturer’s guidance.
- Test a small, inconspicuous area.
- Use steady forward and backward passes.
- Collect remaining water using Rapid Suction mode.
- Allow the area to dry and check the finish before continuing.
Stop if you notice discolouration, lifting, swelling or other changes to the surface.
Tips to protect your floor during cleaning
- Keep the cleaner moving; do not leave the roller running in one place.
- Avoid leaving puddles or repeatedly wetting the same area.
- Pull the cleaner backwards over the same strip to help collect water.
- Switch it off and place it on its storage base when taking a break.
- Let the floor dry before walking over it.
