The Morphy Richards MRX Complete Pro Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner (model 740002) has a self-clean function to help clean the roller after use.
Follow the steps below, then empty the dirty water tank and clean any remaining debris from the removable components.
1. Prepare your cleaner
Before starting:
- Check that the battery has sufficient charge.
- Make sure the clean water tank contains water and is securely fitted.
- Empty the dirty water tank if needed.
- Check that the roller, roller cover, tanks and filters are correctly fitted.
Keep the roller and cover fitted for normal self-cleaning. A roller-off water-release test is a separate diagnostic procedure and should only be carried out using instructions from our Customer Support team.
2. Place the cleaner on its storage base
Switch the cleaner off and place it upright in the park position on the storage base.
The base helps contain water during the cycle. Do not run self-cleaning directly on the floor.
3. Start the self-clean cycle
Press and hold the Mode button for approximately three seconds.
The self-clean cycle takes approximately one minute.
Keep hands, clothing and tools away from the cleaning head while it is running, and stay with the appliance throughout the cycle.
4. Empty the dirty water tank
Once the cycle has finished, make sure the cleaner is switched off and disconnected from the charger before removing components.
Empty and rinse the dirty water tank. Check for remaining dirt or debris in the tank, lid and filters.
5. Clean and dry the removable parts
Self-cleaning helps with routine care, but hair, threads and stubborn debris may still need to be removed by hand.
- Inspect the roller and remove any remaining debris.
- Clean the roller and cover as needed.
- Rinse the filters and allow the sponge filter to dry fully before refitting.
- Allow the roller to dry before refitting if you are storing the cleaner.
Do not immerse the cleaner body or electrical parts in water.
6. Store your cleaner
Place the cleaner upright on its storage base in a dry location, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Avoid leaving dirty water in the tank between uses. Cleaning and drying the removable parts helps prevent unpleasant smells and keeps your cleaner ready for next time.
How often should I use self-cleaning?
Use self-cleaning after a floor-cleaning session as part of your after-use care routine. Also inspect the roller, tanks and filters, removing any debris the cycle has not cleared.
What if self-cleaning will not start?
Check that the cleaner is switched off, upright in the park position and correctly positioned on its storage base. Check the battery charge and try holding the Mode button for approximately three seconds again.
If it still does not start, see our guide: The self-clean function isn’t working, or contact our Customer Support team.
Please include your model and serial number, purchase details and a description of what happens when you try to start the cycle.
