The Flexi Freeze 7L Air Cooler with Remote Control is designed to provide refreshing airflow and personal cooling comfort using evaporative technology. It is suitable for use in rooms up to 20m² and provides the best cooling effect when positioned so the airflow is directed towards you.
If you are experiencing issues such as reduced cooling performance or difficulty changing modes, this guide will help resolve the most common concerns.
Important Usage Information
The Flexi Freeze 7L Air Cooler uses evaporative cooling technology, which means:
- It produces a cooling airflow, rather than refrigerated air
- Performance depends on room conditions (humidity and airflow)
- It works most effectively when used within a few metres of the user
💡 Unlike air conditioning units, this product is not designed to significantly reduce overall room temperature, but instead to improve personal comfort through airflow.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting
1. Unit Not Cooling Effectively
If the airflow feels warm or not as cool as expected:
- Ensure the water tank is filled to the correct level
- For enhanced cooling, use cold water or ice packs in the tank
- Check that the rear filter is correctly installed and damp
- Position the unit closer to your seating or working area
- Use in a well-ventilated room for best results
2. Cooling Mode Light Flashing and Unit Beeping
If the unit begins beeping whilst in Cooling Mode and the Cooling Mode indicator flashes, this means the unit cannot detect water.
This is usually caused by one of the following:
- The water tank is empty or the water level is too low.
- The internal water pump is not positioned correctly at the bottom of the water tank.
- The pump has become dislodged after cleaning or moving the unit.
Please check that:
- The water tank is filled above the minimum water level.
- The pump is fully submerged.
- The pump is correctly positioned at the bottom of the tank.
- The water pipe connected to the pump is free from kinks or obstructions.
Once water is detected, the warning will stop and Cooling Mode will resume normal operation.
3. Unable to Change Mode
If the mode setting does not appear to change:
- Ensure the unit is powered on fully
- Press the MODE button (not the fan speed button)
- Try both the control panel and remote control
- Check the remote control battery and ensure clear line of sight
- Turn the unit off and back on, then try again
💡 The MODE function controls airflow types, while SPEED controls fan strength — these are separate functions.
4. Airflow Present but No Cooling Effect
- Check the water tank is correctly installed and contains sufficient water.
- Ensure the internal water pump is fully submerged and positioned correctly at the bottom of the tank.
- If the Cooling Mode light is flashing and the unit is beeping, refer to the troubleshooting section above.
- Confirm the cooling system is active (Cooling Mode selected).
- Inspect for any obstructions or kinks in the water pipework.
4. Unit Not Powering On
- Check the power cable is securely connected
- Try an alternative power socket
- Ensure the unit is switched on at the mains
- Test both manual controls and remote
5. Cooling Performance Varies
Cooling performance may vary depending on:
- Room humidity (lower humidity improves performance)
- Ventilation (airflow improves cooling effect)
- Distance from the unit
Best Usage Tips for Maximum Cooling
To achieve the best performance:
- Position the unit 1–3 metres from your body
- Use in a room with some ventilation (e.g. window slightly open)
- Add ice packs or cold water for enhanced cooling
- Avoid blocking the air intake or outlet
- Use on a flat, stable surface
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the air not feel as cold as an air conditioner?
This product uses evaporative cooling, which creates a cooling airflow rather than chilled, refrigerated air.
Can this cool an entire room?
It can improve comfort within a room, but it is most effective when used near the user, rather than for whole-room cooling.
Why is the cooling effect stronger when I am closer?
The unit is designed to deliver directional airflow, so the cooling sensation is strongest at closer range.
Why can’t I change the mode?
This is commonly due to:
- Pressing the wrong button (speed instead of mode)
- Remote control battery or signal issue
- Unit needing to be restarted
Does adding ice make a difference?
Yes — adding ice or cold water can enhance the cooling effect.
Why is the Cooling Mode light flashing and the unit beeping?
This indicates that the air cooler cannot detect water.
Please check that:
- The water tank contains enough water.
- The pump is fully submerged.
- The pump is correctly positioned at the bottom of the tank.
- The water pipe is not kinked or blocked.
Once water is detected, the warning will stop automatically.
