Your Morphy Richards warranty covers manufacturing faults and defects in materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period. It does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage or damage caused by incorrect use or maintenance.
This guide explains the main exclusions and how our team assesses whether an issue is covered.
Is normal wear and tear covered?
No. Normal wear and tear from everyday use is not covered by the warranty.
A product or part wearing out over time does not automatically indicate a manufacturing fault. Our team will consider the reported issue, the product’s condition and the information provided when assessing a claim.
Is accidental damage covered?
No. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, including damage caused by:
- Dropping or knocking the product.
- Breaking a jug, carafe, lid, tank or other part accidentally.
- Spills or impacts that damage the product.
If a part is damaged accidentally, you may need to purchase a replacement. Many parts are available from the Morphy Richards UK online store. Check the listed model compatibility before ordering.
Are consumable parts excluded?
Consumable parts are covered for manufacturing faults during the first six months from the original purchase date. After six months, these parts are not covered under the warranty, even if the main product has a longer warranty.
Examples include:
- Coffee carafes and jugs.
- Kettle, iron and coffee filters.
- Lids and water tanks.
- Filler caps and similar replaceable parts.
Accidental damage and normal wear and tear are excluded throughout the warranty period, including the first six months.
For example, a carafe accidentally broken during the first six months is not covered. A carafe with a manufacturing fault reported within the first six months can be assessed under the warranty.
Is damage from incorrect use or maintenance covered?
No. The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Using the product contrary to its instruction manual.
- Incorrect cleaning, maintenance or storage.
- Using unsuitable cleaning products or chemicals.
- Failing to follow the product’s care instructions.
- Using the product for a purpose it was not designed for.
Always follow the instructions for your specific model. Cleaning procedures and water requirements can differ between products.
Is limescale damage covered?
Damage caused by limescale or mineral build-up resulting from a failure to follow the product’s cleaning, descaling or water instructions is not covered.
Limescale can also cause performance problems that may be resolved through the recommended maintenance procedure. The presence of limescale does not, by itself, establish the cause of every fault.
Follow the instruction manual for your model. Do not use a generic descaling procedure or cleaning chemical unless it is suitable for that product.
If you are unsure what maintenance is required, contact our Customer Support team before proceeding.
Are unauthorised repairs or modifications covered?
Damage or faults caused by unauthorised repairs or modifications are not covered.
Do not dismantle or modify the product to investigate a fault. Contact our team for guidance and follow only the checks recommended for your model.
We do not offer a repair service. Our team will help with appropriate troubleshooting and assess the next steps if the issue continues.
Is commercial use covered?
No. Our warranty is for domestic use. It does not cover products used for commercial, industrial or other non-domestic purposes.
Does failing to register cancel my standard guarantee?
No. Your standard guarantee still applies without registration.
For most appliances purchased from other retailers from August 2023 onwards, the standard guarantee is two years. Registration within 28 days of purchase, together with agreement to join Morphy Rewards, qualifies eligible products for three years of cover in total.
Older products and products with different advertised warranties may have different periods and conditions.
Purchases made directly from www.morphyrichards.co.uk automatically qualify for their applicable extended warranty, without separate registration.
Read our Morphy Richards Warranty: Cover, Registration and Claims guide for the purchase-date rules and longer advertised warranties.
Are products supplied by another licensee covered by Consumer Brands Limited?
Products supplied under another company’s Morphy Richards licence are not covered by Consumer Brands Limited’s warranty support arrangements. This does not mean those products have no warranty; their support is handled by the responsible company.
Check the manufacturer, importer or distributor information on the rating label, packaging or supplied product information:
- Consumer Brands Limited: Contact our Morphy Richards UK Customer Support team.
- Argos or RKW Ltd identified as the supplier under licence: Contact that company or the original retailer for warranty support.
The retailer alone does not identify the warranty provider. Argos, for example, sells products supplied by Consumer Brands Limited as well as remaining stock from its previous licence.
If you are unsure, send our team your model or product number and a clear photograph of the label or supplier information.
How do you decide whether an issue is covered?
Our team will review the issue and may request:
- Your model and serial numbers, where applicable.
- Purchase details and proof of purchase if not already held.
- Registration confirmation, where applicable.
- Details of cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting already attempted.
- Clear photographs or a short video showing the issue and product condition.
Only record the issue if it is safe to do so.
We may guide you through further troubleshooting or request the product for examination by our Quality Assurance team. Where an examination is required, the proposed resolution will depend on the findings and the applicable warranty terms.
Please do not return or dispose of the product unless our team has instructed you to do so.
What if I believe my product is unsafe?
Stop using the product. If safe to do so, switch it off and disconnect it from the power supply.
Contact our Customer Support team promptly and explain what happened. Do not attempt further troubleshooting or recreate the incident for photographs or video.
Retain the product for possible examination where safe to do so, and follow our team’s guidance about handling and return arrangements.
Not sure whether your issue is covered?
Complete our warranty support form. Describe the issue and provide your product and purchase details so our team can assess it.
